I was born in Kingaroy. Lived in Brisbane for a short period then worked at South Burnett Meat Works Murgon for seven years before moving back to Brisbane with my wife, Gaye, to undertake studies. Our three children were born in Brisbane.

I have completed a Bachelor of Commerce through Griffith University and subsequently undertook post graduate studies to become a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

During my past employment I have assisted many individuals from trades people, politicians and sports people, and businesses in varied industries including primary production, health, legal practitioners, manufacturing industries (poly tanks and plywood), retailers (Car Lovers and Tint-a- Car franchises).

After ten years experience, at three firms in Brisbane, Gaye and I made the decision to raise our family in the country and moved back to Wondai where I started my own accountancy business, Hobbs & Assoc Pty Ltd, at Wondai.
